Boris Grebenchikov:
The story of 10 arrows. Back then in mid-70s we used to hang out with a friendly couple - Tanya Apraxina and her husband, commonly known as Jimi (nobody quite remembers his surname (probably Dyshlov), though I had it registered somewhere in RAO in connection with this song). He wrote a song with no words, she was humming it, I came around, we had something to drink (probably), I suggested I could write some lyrics for it. 20 minutes later we had a song.
Certainly it changed somewhat during the following years, but the basis was laid down then. The version on "acoustika" was closer to the first version, but somehow it changed into the sort-of-hymn about the "positive end of the world-as-we-know-it" it is now.
